nearly the same errors appear with binutils-2.14.90.0.6 (there are less ``relocation truncated to fit: R_SPARC_32 .text'' errors), and i compiled gcc-3.3 with binutils-2.13.2.1...

are you 100% sure that this is a binutils problem?
maybe it will work with binutils-2.13.2.1 -- i tried with
2.14 and 2.14.90.0.6 only...

do you think it is worth trying?
