But there are several other problems nowadays. What's the best way to address
these?

1. 3.4-20030820 does not build on HP-UX 11.11 (grengtype needs
   missing parse_line)

2. long doubles cause the gcc compiler to crash on AIX-4.3
   Easy to reproduce:
   
   # mkdir perl-current
   # cd perl-current
   # rsync -avz --delete rsync://ftp.linux.activestate.com/perl-current/ .
   # ./Configure -Duselongdouble -des
   ... gcc will crash pretty soon
