gcc 3.2: make bootstrap failed on Solaris 2.8 system

Dear Sir,
I'm trying to configure & build the gcc compiler, version 3.2 on a Solaris 2.8
system.
During the make bootstrap step, I got the following error:
error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot create
executables.
Info:
The system type: SunOS btm0gn 5.8 Generic_108528-11 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10
The options given when gcc was configured:
bt00kc:/home/jvme/bin/gcc-3.2/objdir> ../configure
--prefix=/home/jvme/cmx_tools/3EZ00383_gcc_3.2_Sol_2.8 --enable-languages=c,c++
