error during compilation of gcc

I get the following when trying to compile gcc-3.1.1
and gcc-3.2 on a SunOS-5.8 machine:
configure: error: can not find install-sh or
install.sh in . ./.. ./../..
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target
`configure-target-libffi'

Can anyone help me out with this, please?
