optimization/6973: gcc-3.1 fails to compille mesa-4.0.2 on i586 (opt >= -O1 works)

Hi,

I can reproduce the bug with gcc 3.1, but not with gcc version 3.1.1
20020708 (prerelease). The bug really seems to be fixed on the branch.

On the trunk this cannot be checked, because of the following parse
error:
