bootstrap/5117: irix6.5 bootstrap failure when using SGI's compiler

Hello again,
I had a closer look into the configure stuff, and I think that the
problems in auto-host.h are caused by the fact that "ac_cv_type_ssize_t"
and "ac_cv_type_pid_t" are not detected correctly. They should be
set to "yes", but they are set to "no". This causes several other tests
in the configure scripts to fail with the result of a screwed up
"auto-host.h"-file.
I'm now trying to bootstrap the compiler using the follwing two entries
"config.cache" file:
ac_cv_type_ssize_t=${ac_cv_type_ssize_t=yes}
ac_cv_type_pid_t=${ac_cv_type_pid_t=yes}
The first result is that the other four problems in auto-host.h
disappeared. I have to see whether the rest of the bootstrap process
runs fine, though.
Meanwhile, I try to understand, why "ac_cv_type_ssize_t" and
"ac_cv_type_pid_t" aren't set correctly.
Greetings,
Volker
