Previously applied patch- force PR to be live, causes problem in gcc-3.0.x for SH target

Hi,

Will you please elaborate the reason for saving and restoring PR to/from stack? 
By reversing the patch the problem gets solved.
Will you please suggest a work around so that the patch shouldn't be reversed?
