    test3.c: In function `test':
    test3.c:15: output constraint 0 cannot be specified together with "st" clobber
    
    The fix to your code will be to change this line:
    : "=t"(ret): "u"(y), "0"(x): "eax","st");
    
    to:
    
    : "=t"(ret): "u"(y), "0"(x): "eax","st(1)");
