BTW, I don't see this problem in the testsuite/g++.log file.  It only
comes up if you run the test by hand without setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
(The harness does that correctly.)

Try using this in LD_LIBRARY_PATH with <builddir> suitably replaced:
<builddir>/mips-sgi-irix6.2/mabi=64/libstdc++-v3/src/.libs:<builddir>/gcc

You should be able to link (with the libm warning David mentioned) but
running the executable gets an abort.
