If you can't remember the exact bug, can you at least pull out the
sparc64 test case that led you to make all of these changes?
The test case was almost certainly in Ada and highly likely proprietary code,
which is why it wasn't posted.
Well, this plus the fact that you can't remember any of the details of
the failure puts us at a deadlock, doesn't it?
The other thing I considered was if someone declared a function to
return a small structure and marked it with attribute const. Perhaps
this would cause some troubles. However I tried various test cases
and I couldn't trigger anything interesting here.
