Source problem in DDD 3.3.1

I ran into a problem compiling DDD 3.3.1 on an Alpha workstation running
OSF 4.0f.  The compiler was gcc 2.95.2.  The message I got was the
following:

I'd really love to hunt down and fix this bug so I could submit a patch,
but I have a little over 3 hours in which to turn in a large assignment
(which runs under Linux and Solaris, yet segfaults under Tru64 ... damn
Compaq and their "better ideas").
