I have observed the same bug in one of our Applications
with gcc-3.01 under Linux:

Reading specs from
/usr/local/gcc-3.0.1/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.0.1/specs
Configured with: ../gcc-3.0.1/configure --prefix=/usr/local/gcc-3.0.1
Thread model: single
gcc version 3.0.1

Getting a segmentation fault with -O3 -fomit-frame-pointer.

I can send preprocessed source and assembly output, if you
need another example besides the one Juergen sent.
