I just rm -rf'ed all trace of an installed gcj, rebuilt the latest branch tree
on Redhat 6.2 i686, and ran "make check" without "make install":

                === libjava Summary ===

# of expected passes            1618
# of unexpected failures        2
# of unexpected successes       20
# of expected failures          84

So, it looks like this is now fixed, thanks to the new libtool!
