A million "sorry, not implemented: `template_type_parm' not supported by dump_type_prefix" warnings on irix6.5

When building 3.1 on irix6.5, I am getting a LOT of warnings 

sorry, not implemented: `template_type_parm' not supported by
dump_type_prefix

When I say a lot, I mean hundreds of megabytes worth:
*	  51000 lines during the bootstrap
*	 941000 lines when running the g++ testsuite
