    This does not crash with gcc 3.0 (prerelease).
    You are using the version of gcc distributed by
    Red Hat.  You should obtain the latest patchlevel version
    of this compiler from Red Hat, since the version you
    have has known bugs. 
    You can get the latest gcc version from
    ftp://rawhide.redhat.com
