ld.so : bad dynamic tag

Hello,

Recently, we have been getting an error when executing our application
on a Linux PPC system. The
kernel is 2.4.2. The cross compiler is gnu 2.95.2 host x86 target 82xx
PPC.

When we start our application, we occasionally get the following which
cause the app to exit:

BUG IN DYNAMIC LINKER ld.so: dynamic-link.h: 57: elf_get_dynamic_info:
Assertion
 `! "bad dynamic tag"' failed!

Does anyone know why this is happening? Any ideas regarding what we
should try?
The application has worked fine for a long time, but we have been adding
new functionality to it and it is getting quite large.
