3.0, gcc_release fails on sparc-sun-solaris2.7

In fact, it doesn't really matter if the script can't run anywhere but
GNU/Linux -- we could even make it check that and error out otherwise.

On the other hand, if Nathan wants to fix it up a little, so that he
can test the packaging, if he doesn't have a GNU/Linux box (does he?),
then that is well worthwhile.
