You may need to pass explicit --with-as and --with-ld to configure on
Solaris if binutils is installed.

2.9.1 is probably far too old for the trunk.  It will have problems
handling unaligned relocations.  Try a recent binutils snapshot such
as 010603, or stick with the native as/ld.
