Typo? in mips.c "warning: statement with no effect"

I get a warning 

gcc/config/mips/mips.c:4905: warning: statement with no effect

The line in question looks like a typo using "==" rather than "=", but I am
not sure

  if (mips_tune_string == 0
      || ! strcmp (mips_tune_string, "default")
      || ! strcmp (mips_tune_string, "DEFAULT"))
    {
      if (mips_arch != PROCESSOR_DEFAULT)
	mips_tune == mips_arch;       <--- warning here
      else

The warning is recent, and possibly due to

	(override_options): Handle -march for codegen and -mtune
	for scheduling. Use mips_arch. Move tx39 target default here.
