Java broken after i386 PIC change

It is definatly failing on RH7 as well, although I do not have all eratta
applied to this machine. Specifically, it is binutils-2.10.0.18-1 and
glibc-2.1.94-3.

I'm running a libstdc++-v3 "make check" now. It seems to be looking okay
so far.
