Hi,

this bug, c/1569, as well as identical c/1580, is caused by the following change:

revision 1.8680
date: 2000/12/22 15:44:39;  author: bernds;  state: Exp;  lines: +20 -0
Renamer improvements.

regrename.c was modified.  Reverting this patch alleviates the problem.
