Build failure with gcc-ss-20010101

I looked at configure and nothing comes to mind.  I purged the entire
gcc tree and reloaded from CVS [cvs -z 3 checkout-rgcc_latest_snapshot
gcc]; configure is the same as the one I was using.  I've attached my
copy of configure below.
