Internal compiler error with gcj

Hi!
This gives an ICE on Linux:

cat VXE_ParseTreeException.java:

public class VXE_ParseTreeException
{
 private VCDN_Node _node;		

 public void getMessage()
    {
     VCDN_Node       aNode;	
     String pList[]= new String[2];

     aNode    =  _node.getChild(0);
     pList[0] += "\n  + " + aNode;	
    }
}

cat VCDN_Node.java:

public abstract class VCDN_Node 
{
    public VCDN_Node getChild( int  index)
    {

    }
}

gcj -v:
