Questions regarding compiler and linker:
good day,
i am using you compiler (ccppc for powerpc 405gp) gcc driver version
cygnus-2.7.2-960126 and ld linker (ldppc for powerpc405gp) in developing
printer firmware. my romsize is sufficient enough to accomodate the image
generated.
i would like to ask a few questions:
1. what is the common segment? as i have compiled my codes, aside from the
text, bss and data segment, common segment was added.
2. what contitutes the common segment? when does a variable qualify to be
placed in the common segment?
3. does link order affect actual memory configuration?
thank you and good day,
rommel delos santos
