>Organization:
>Environment:
Linux Mandrake 8.1
>Description:
Using either the precompiled version of GCC 3.0.1 that comes with Mandrake 8.1 or compiling GCC 3.0.2 from the source produces the same error. The error occurs when compiling the 8139too (RTL 8139) module. I have not modified the configure scripts or makefiles included in the distribution of either the kernel or the GCC source. The only switch that I can think of that may have caused this problem is --march=athlon .

This problem occurs whether the module is complied into the kernel or as a module.
>How-To-Repeat:
Enable support for the Realtek 8139 series of LAN boards in the kernel, try to make bzImage and gaze at the result. :-)
>Fix:
I am but a lowly second year software engineering student. I'm not a god like those who maintain GCC. :-)
