Installing on powerpc-ibm-aix4.3.2.0

Assuming that more information is required than given in the prior
report, I will attempt some.  None of the bug report guidelines
seem to apply to an install failure.

History: gcc-2.95.2 installed fine jun2000.

Now:
normal configure
make bootstrap
failed somewhere after stage4 with /usr/bin: not found
Just for fun
make bootstrap
failed with the six ln errors given in the prior report.
make distclean
failed (possibly with the same six ln errors)
rm -rf objdir
mkdir objdir
See prior report for config c,c++ only

For now, I will assume that 3.0.1 is not usable on this platform
and restore 2.95.2.  Any assistance appreciated.  Is 3.0.0 usable?
