Synopsis: warning on valid code

State-Changed-From-To: open->closed
State-Changed-By: aoliva
State-Changed-When: Tue Aug 14 15:53:11 2001
State-Changed-Why:
    The warning is not caused by using chr_index as the index, but because the macro isprint() uses print_byte as an index into an array of character type descriptors. Since isprint() is not defined in GCC, but in the C library of whatever OS you're using, this is not a bug in GCC.
