splitting up gencodes

My patch did not create gencheck, it's been around, unchanged, for years.
I would think this is a generic code-generation bug in the MIPS back end.

If you like, you could mail me assembly dumps of gencheck.o or genpreds.o
created by stage1 cc1 from now and from the last time it worked, and I
could try to look at them, but I don't know MIPS assembly that well.
