CVS server bug

Dear All,

I am unable to check out gcc from a particular date in the
past. For example, this command into an empty directory:

cvs -z 9 co -D "01/14/2000" gcc

gives the following output:

cvs [server aborted]: unable to reopen `/cvs/gcc/egcs/mpw-README,v'

Apparently, the file "mpw-README" is now in the Attic.

I am using version 1.10.7 of CVS.

Please can you help me. I am trying to rebuild the version of the
compiler that we are currently using and this error is preventing me
from doing so.
