gcc: installation problem error

Hello,

I'm getting the following error:

gcc -O -fpic -c -o ././veriuser.o \
        -I/apps/cadence/tools/include
-I/apps/cadence/tools/inca/include  \
        ./veriuser.c
gcc: installation problem, cannot exec `cpp': No such file or directory
make: *** [veriuser.o] Error 1


Any idea how to resolve this?
