Thanks for your bug report. Please have a look at the section
"Reporting Bugs" of the gcc compiler, at least in case you meant to
report a bug instead of asking a question.

IOW, I can't reproduce your problem. On i586-pc-linux-gnu, with gcc
2.95.2, the executable I get for your code is 4068 bytes in size.
