volatile undefined

compiler version 2.95.2
system linux

i attached a tgz.
inside is a .C and a script.
start the script, it is self explaining.

it first compiles the source without optimization
then with optimization

the compiler will then say:
tudinc_server.C:12: `volatile' undeclared (first use this function)
and it will exit.

but "volatile" is nowhere in the source.

this bug is also on
http://cgi.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?archive=no&bug=50529

but i sent it here because i think it was lost.

PS: please someone reply to me if it is
    already known, new or whatsoever,...
we've been struggling with this error for a long time now ;)
