This problem persisted after I got the version from sunfreeware.com and
tried to use it to compile. At that point, I traced the problem to
CPPFLAGS in my shell's environment including the equivalent of
"-I /usr/local/include" (but a different place on my system). That is, the
sunfreeware gcc did not overwrite the troublesome include file. With the
sunfreeware gcc-2.95.2 and an unset CPPFLAGS, it compiled fine and is
working wonderfully.
Thanks,
Mike
