Internal compiler error while trying to build GCC 2.95.2 on IBM SP2

GCC Version:  2.95.2
Platform:  IBM SP2

The following "internal compiler error" was encountered while trying to
build GCC 2.95.2 on the platform:
Has anyone successfully built gcc on this platform?  Thanks.
