ARM targetted gcc hangs

This problem has been reported before. A description and analysis is available

It is still a problem in all ARM versions including gcc 2.95.2 and the current
arm-thumb branch in CVS. I haven't tried the main line, but I can't imagine it
will be any different. BTW, if anyone is interested I keep a record of known
