AFAIK, one of the major problems is that libgcj won't build as part of
a regular GCC bootstrap/build. Because of a libtool limitation, it
must be configured after GCC is installed.

I've hacked an experimental CVS branch of libtool to fix this
limitation, and it's been working fine for me on several different
architectures, but I'm not sure we'd like to have such an experimental
libtool in the GCC tree.
