bugs in gcc-2.95.2 fixed: Race-condition on multiprocessors when running multi-threaded and bug

Hello *,

Unfortunately, the patch provided does solve the problem concerning the
comparism of equal strings, but breaks the operator == and !=. The patch
was not tested enough, sorry, my fault.
We are working on a test suite and provide a _real_ patch as soon as
possible.
