The attached code produces the following error on my system:

$ g++ bug.cpp

My system is:
* gcc 2.95.2 19991024, standard library 2.95.2.  Both are unaltered RPM installs from Mandrake 7.0
* Mandrake 7.0 running on an AMD K6-2 350
* Linux 2.2.16 with ReiserFS.
