See <URL: http://www.gnu.org/software/gcc/faq.html#bugreport > for instructions.

This snippet is an extract from the file in newlib-1.8.1.

Compiler sources checked out from CVS mainline at
  2000/01/15 16:13:47 +0100

It was configured like this:

env CC=i686-redhat6-linux-gnu-gcc				\
    AR=/opt/gnu/i686-redhat6-linux-gnu/bin/ar			\
    AS=/opt/gnu/i686-redhat6-linux-gnu/bin/as			\
    NM=/opt/gnu/i686-redhat6-linux-gnu/bin/nm			\
    RANLIB=/opt/gnu/i686-redhat6-linux-gnu/bin/ranlib		\
    CFLAGS='-O2' CXXFLAGS='-O2 -g' LDFLAGS=-s			\
/bin/sh ../egcs-20000115/configure --build=i686-redhat6-linux-gnu \
    --host=i686-redhat6-linux-gnu --target=arm-elf		\
    --srcdir=../egcs-20000115 --prefix=/opt/gnu --with-gnu-as	\
    --with-gnu-ld --enable-version-specific-runtime-libs	\
    --with-local-prefix=/opt/gnu --enable-languages=c++		\
     --enable-nls --verbose

Buildtools:

  gcc-2.95.2
  binutils snapshot from sourceware at 2000/01/15 16:02:17 +0100

Oops, I just recognized, the same happens with a native gcc...

Cheers.
