Internal Compiler Error when compiling ddd with gcc 2.95.2

Hello!

I got following message when compiling ddd-3.1.6

c++  -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DNDEBUG -O2 -g -W -Wall  -felide-constructors
-fconserve-space -trigraphs -c -I. -I. -I./..  -o HelpCB.o HelpCB.C
HelpCB.C: In function `void PopupTip(void *, XtIntervalId *)':

ddd was simply configured by
./configure --prefix=/opt_prog/local
and compiled  with
gmake
