Building gcc 2.95.2 on an NCR box

I'm currently trying to build gcc on an NCR machine (i586-ncr-sysv4.3.03)
whilst the compiler builds fine, there seems to be a problem with any
executables, in that they are blowing up in the stub code in particular,
__do_global_ctors_aux. Unfortunately symbols don't seem to be available
either in that __CTOR_LIST__ doesn't seem to be defined where it dies.
I'd do some more work on this but I don't have a clue how the global
constructor lists are created by the compiler and how this varies accross
architechtures. Any ideas/hints would be appreciated.
