Internal compiler error in `gen_reload_inhi', at insn-emit.c:5550

I had a problem with gcc 2.95.2 19991024 (release) on an Alpha-PC (EV4 as
EV5) running RedHat Linux with glibc 2.1.3.
When I start

g++ client.ii

the compiler responds with

client.cc: In method `int Client::x_request()':
client.cc:485: Internal compiler error in `gen_reload_inhi', at
insn-emit.c:5550

Line 485 contains the closing '}' bracket of Client::x_request(). I
attached the Preprocessor output and the cc File.
I hope this helps for the first time. The source is taken from the CCF
project by the emory university
( http://ccf.mathcs.emory.edu/ccf/software.html ) that I wanted to compile
for Linux-Alpha.
