>Environment:
i686-pc-Linux-gnu
it is a Slackware 7.1 installation
>Description:
I compiled succesfully,
and was able to install 2.95.2 after removing the
egcs-1.1.2 package of Slackware 7.1 by means of pkgtool
afterwards I was unable to make use of config.guess...
it outputs nothing
I used the default /usr/local installation for
gcc-2.95.2 and not the --prefix=/usr
which seems to be what was used by slackware for egcs-1.1.2
>How-To-Repeat:
on a i686-pc installation of Slackware 7.1
build gcc-2.95.2 as described in
http://egcs.cygnus.com/install/
use and objdir and don't give any options to
./configure
use pkgtool (a slackware thing) to remove the previously
installed egcs package (as it as the old binaries in
/usr/bin and the new ones are gonna be in /usr/local/bin)
then make install for gcc-2.95.2

now it should be inpossible to get anything out of GNUs
config.guess
there are some other minor problems which arose with xkbcomp
in the case of xdm...
