Stage1 of current CVS gcc aborts when compiling reload1.c

Stage1 gcc (configured for i586-suse-linux-gnu) aborts when compiling
reload1.c with:

/u2/cvs/egcs/gcc/reload1.c:7649: Internal compiler error in `verify_wide_reg_1', at flow.c:2562

Compiling with -O1 instead of the default -O2 succeeds.
