Environment:
This bug occurs on a plain vanilla Red Hat 4.2 installation without
modification, i.e. Linux 1.2.13. The version of the c-compiler is
2.7.0.
X
When trying to compile the files from this shell archive using
X
cc figforth.c fig86.linux.c -Wl,-Tlink.script -o /dev/null
X
It complains it doesnot find libc.a (normally it finds the libraries
no problem).
"/usr/i486-linux/bin/ld: cannot open -lc: No such file or directory"
X
If I now add the path where to find the library :
X
cc -L/usr/lib figforth.c fig86.linux.c -Wl,-Tlink.script -o /dev/null
X
I get a signal 11
"cc: Internal compiler error: program ld got fatal signal 11"
X
[ Observation: the c-files are really trivial and I like to draw attention
to the linkscript. The link.script may be rather bizar, but it is syntactically correct
and has functioned on a Red Hat 5.1 Linux 2.0.34 with gcc 2.7.2.3 Anyway we are
talking signal 11 here ]
