I've sucessfully ported past versions of gcc (all the way up to egcs-1.1.2) to this platform, and I'm currently working on building gcc-2.95.1.

During the build attempt of gcc-2.95.1 on the OpenStep for Mach (aka NEXTSTEP) 4.2 platform, with the native cc (a slightly modified gcc 2.7.2.1), I run into an error building libchill/format.c (or more specifically, i386-next-nextstep3/libchill/format.c)

/usr/local/src/gcc/gcc-2.95.1/gcc/xgcc -B/usr/local/src/gcc/gcc-2.95.1/gcc/ -B/usr/local/i386-next-nextstep3/bin/ -c -I. -I. -O format.c
/usr/tmp/ccErnMYS.s:1632:no such 386 instruction: `fild'

At this point I'm stuck. It seems to be some sort of assembler error, but that's about all I can tell. Any ideas?
