which is the reason I used to build this in the order:
gnu make
gcc without binutils or bootstrap *
bison *
flex *
binutils
gcc bootstrap
additional compilers
Not a bug in gcc, but the web page instructions appear to assume one has the
hpux development package installed. In that case, all the * steps might be
able to be skipped, although I would remain more confident of binutils if
compiled with gcc.

This is normal for the steps where the bundled cc is in use.
