Linker error building cross compiler

Hello

I tried to build the GNU cross compiler for:
  host:     i586-pc-linux
  target:   alpha-dec-osf

I was using source:       gcc-2.95.2   (gcc-2.95.2.tar.gz)

First I have successfully built (by 'make bootstrap') and installed the
'native' compiler. I had  binutils-2.9.1  already installed.

Then I tried to build gcc by new native gcc-2.95.2. I got the linker error:

  toplev.o (.text+0x1d6a): Undefined reference to ASM_FILE_START
