I think an apology to the egcs team is in order, as this is clearly doing them
injustice.

As far as I've watched the discussions, it wasn't a case of being uninterested
but rather a point of either unclear responsibility (i.e. missing assignments
or people unwilling to do them) or patches that where unacceptable to egcs in
their form.

But I'll let Jeff comment on that.
