Internal compiler error

Hello,

i tried to compile egcs-19990623 on a DEC-Alpha workstation xp1000 with
DigitalUNIX 4.0E.
While building libgcc2 the following error was reported:

_muldi3
./libgcc2.c: In function `__muldi3':
./libgcc2.c:305: Internal compiler error in `float_signal', at
toplev.c:2418
